Your Medicare Learning Curve
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) and Medicare Advantage (Part C) are two distinct paths for receiving Medicare coverage. Original Medicare, administered by the federal government, provides fee-for-service coverage for hospital stays, doctor visits, and medically necessary treatments but it does not include prescription drugs or routine services like dental, vision, and hearing.
Medicare Advantage plans, offered by private insurance companies, include all the benefits of Original Medicare and often provide additional coverage such as Part D prescription drug plans, dental care, vision exams, and hearing aids. These plans may offer lower out-of-pocket costs but often require you to use in-network providers and may involve prior authorization for certain services.
In addition to understanding the difference between these options, consumers face a range of Medicare-related challenges such as evaluating Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) to cover cost gaps, navigating formularies for prescription drug plans, interpreting premiums and deductibles, and keeping up with annual plan changes and regulations.
This is where Anderson Elder Law can help. Our Medicare planning professionals provide clear, compassionate guidance to help you make informed, confident choices. Whether you're approaching age 65, reviewing your coverage during Medicare Open Enrollment, or experiencing a change in your health needs, we’re here to ensure you receive the comprehensive support you deserve.
